Week 12 - Traditional Art Strikes Back

March 19th - March 25th

What's the mood this week lads?

My tooth might be dying. But anyway here's a bunch of art.
I started working on making the medusa sketch from last week into a print. I 'm still trying to figure out what kind of aesthetic I want for it. Something screen print-y? We'll work on it.
A piece of fanart of Lup, specifically of this cosplay of her. I loveee this look and I've been meaning to draw it for a long while now.

I finally finished my piece for the Team Miraculous zine. That's my last zine piece for now! I'm free bitch!!! Unless I get accepted into any more lmao.

More working with copics. My sketchbook continues to be incredibly bleedy with them, but they're fun to work with so who cares.

I might work on making that plant person into a proper print or something? I'm really into their hair.

I also got into my watercolours again and doodled some vaguely camp inspired items. I continue to be cursed with impatience haha but it's still fun.

Aaaand all the rest of my sketchbook, including the original messy page of watercolours. I also finished The Dragon Prince S2 this week, and it definitely shows.

Week 11 - Big Challenges!!!!

March 12th - March 18th

Another slow week. Oh well. Oh well!!!

I hung out with my pal Alis this week and spent some time doodling on yellow paper.

And a messy messy couple of sketchbook spreads. Big challenges indeed! But also some decent character designs, one for a short comics I've been noodling with and one for another story I might work on at least designing, even if it's not anywhere near being a full comic.

I also really dig this mothman postcard by nimfeemos on tumblr!

Week 10

March 5th - March 11th

This weeks starts with a little thing inspired by the creepy webseries Petscop! Probably gonna be a mini print at geddon this April.

Also has some fun drawing my favourite TAZ boys again:

aaaaand more self indulgence with Molly and Yasha from Critical Role:

I also did an ask meme over on my side twitter which led to these doodles of yet more TAZ characters (+Rita!)

And just a smattering of sketchbook stuff from this week:

Week 9

February 26st - March 4th

Rough week lads!! Stressing bout life stuff. Didn't get a lot done. And that's fine! We'll get there.

Konoha High zine are open for preorder! I did a set of stickers for this one.

I finished my piece for the RAD LGBT zine (I'm only in the PDF version, but I'll probably have this as a print this year too.) Here's a preview:

I've also been working on my piece for the Team Miraculous zine. This is my last zine I've got lined up... they're very fun but also......... freedom................

I'm also working on another SheRa print maybe??

And just a couple of fashiony sketches this week.

Week 9 Inspiration

Week 8 - Sketchbook only, final destination

19th February - 25th February

A good chunk of this week was spent animating, with my tablet put firmly away for the sake of my attention span, so it's sketchbook time baby!

I was itching to try copics again, so here are a few more colour sketches. These were done in my current sketchbook, which apparently doesn't like the combo of ink and alcohol as much as the pad of paper I was using last time, so there was a bit of bleeding unfortunately.

I also still can't draw traditionally with any semblance of neatness, but that's a work in progress haha.

I also revisited some old OCs. I've got a short comics planned out for them. Fingers crosses I get that together this year!

And some other miscellaneous sketchbook stuff:

Week 7 Inspiration

These Valentine hugs from Shannon Bea.
Such good line work here!

Also a big fan of these low poly pals by colincake (click here for gif versions!) Simple shapes and nice colours.

Week 7

12th February - 18th February

I went back to my package design for my sticker sets. Very small!
I messed up with the planning and they're a bit smaller than I needed (or rather, the exact size I planned, which mean that the 'actual size' image is too small. Woops.) but luckily I can still make them bigger while fitting two on a A4 sheet.

I was also experimenting with how they close, which was either gonna be a flap tucked into the top, or into a slit. The slit is more troublesome to make, but altogether makes the closing nicer, so I'm gonna go with that.

I got a commission this week for a couple of DnD character illustrations. I was working from mood boards rather than reference, so I had a bit of free range and in the end they were super fun to do!

And lastly, a little roundup of sketchbook stuff (that second page is mostly me planning for designing to do lists, which is something I'm super keen to do! Still just doodling for now tho.)
