My 24kg baby + new stickers!

I was very lucky to get a new printer for xmas, and boy howdy, is she a doozy!

Box as wide as the damn front door

She sat in her box in the living room for a while cause I had to go out and get a whole nother table to put her on. She still lives in the lounge because there is physically no space in my room haha.

She's got an A3 scanner and can print double sided up to A3 as well!! Now I'm super itching to make more zines and books....

I also got my sticker orders all in! No new art, but some old stuff that I converted into stickers, plus some Konoha High stickers for me to sell personally (still not publicly posted, hence the flowers).

Week 3 - Sketchbook Boogaloo

January 15th - January 21st

Starting the week with some doodle of Juno and Rita from the Penumbra Podcast as I listened to part 1 of the season finale. No spoilers but it's a damn good episode!!!

For a while I've really wanted to draw something inspired by the Paul Jennings story 'Grandad's Gifts', cause it's a story that's stuck with me ever since I was a kid. I finally got around to it! I'm super pleased with how it cam out.

I haven't really drawn foxes before, so I doodled out a bunch beforehand. These were done with cheap crayola super tips, which are super vibrant and fun. Not great for actual colour ofc, but good for scribbles!

I'm also trying out water colours again after watching a few videos on them. I've still got goblins on the brain from drawing the stickers, so I started with a goblin girl waiting for her date.

I doodled some little beach themed girls that I wanna go back and do more with - one made of the ocean and one made of the sand. They're best friends.

Finally I drew up this little image of a skateboarding girl with groceries. I really just wanted to draw loose clothing on top of tight clothing and try a different colouring style.

Week 3 Inspiration

Pieces by Dol Ay (@dolay999) on twitter

Panel from the comic "Circuits and Veins" by Jem Yoshioka. I just really likes this fashion - sportswear with a loose top over tight clothing.

Week 2- Markers and markers and markers!

 January 8th - January 14th

This week I started drawing up a goblin themed sticker set. I wanna try doing more sticker sets (and stickers in general) this year - they're fun to think up and make. I dunno if I'm gonna post them until I can actually get them printed, but here's a preview.

I've also been really digging into my sketchbook. I got myself some cheap Crayola supertip markers with a voucher, and they've proven really fun to mess around with. Bad for big blocks of colour - they streak like hell - but solid and bright and good for lining.

I mentioned in my inspiration post that I saw Spiderverse again. I posted half jokingly on twitter that someone should commission me so I could buy another ticket, and my pal Rowan did just that! For some Spiderverse art no less. My dream come true honestly. Thanks Rowan!

Week 2 - Inspiration

This week I got to go see Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse for the second time. It's a FANTASTIC movie and the visuals cannot be overstated!! I'm so glad I got to watch it again on the big screen and pay attention to all the little things I missed the first time around.

I also spotted this album cover around, and I just really like the silly, DIY feel of it.

Art shopping!

It's a new year, and I got a Gordon Harris voucher for Christmas (just like every other artist I know haha) so I went and did some art supply shopping!

(this is like $93 worth of supplies lmaooo)

First I some new sketchbooks - a mini one cheap for anatomy studies and a big, hardcover one for everything else! It's been so long since I've had a nice sketchbook that isn't already half full of uni work. Now that I'm out of uni, it feels good to have that!

Of course I immediately covered it in a bunch of stickers (I don't use them anywhere else haha).

I also got myself couple of brush pens for inking, which is something I wanna get better at - a black soft brush and a magenta brush regular.

And also expanding my collection of brightly coloured copics. I just love how vibrant they are. Love owning copics. Love to learn how to use them one day.

Week 1 - Inspiration

Some drinks (fruit juice! Not even fizzy!) From the an Asian supermarket in Newmarket) I loveee this package/type design and colour choices. English on one side, kanji on the other.

Marker work from astro_eden on instagram!

I played Princess Remedy in a Heap of Trouble finally! I played 'in a World of Hurt' ages ago this just reminded me how much I love the colours and style. I really wanna try draw something like this...

also this little alligator friend from perfectpuzzle on twitter.

Week 1 - A Leisurely Start

Jan 1 - Jan 8

Happy new year! I spent new years at Kales as per usual so I didn't have my tablet until the 4th. As such, we're starting off pretty scrappy. But then again, what else is the New Years period for?

Spidersona, inspired by Into the Spiderverse

A hero? An omen? A moth??? Who knows. They're most often sighted as a blur across the sky or a glowing pair of eyes.

Zine work

I'm in a lot of zines right now, and all of them had check ins this week;;;

I'm doing stickers for Konoha High, which I finally sketched out, and then finished, all in one go haha. I'm super happy with them!

It's also the due week for my piece in the *** zine! (yet to be announced haha) I'm super proud of this piece and can't wait to show it off.

 (shhh it's a secret)

Other zines are still in the sketch stages. Watch this space!

Stickers

There was a super cheap sticker sale happening with one of my suppliers, so I dashed and got myself a bunch of new stickers printed. Namely, the Konoha High ones above, plus some restocks and re-purposing some old prints into stickers.

Welcome to 2019!

Its finally here! 2018 is dead and gone and now we get to try something new. So this year I wanna try keep a blog to keep myself on track.

HOPEFULLY I'll be posting a short summary every week of what I've been drawing.
